Brewer Bonanza

Spent the first part of Tuesday with Dot. And her CRV.
Hmm...DOT has a blue car.
MOM has a blue car.
BRENDA has a blue car.
I see a pattern here...

Miller Park in Milwaukee. Mom's boss threw out
the first pitch at the Brewer Game, and we sat
in the company's luxury box. So spoiled. :)

Check it out - the Brewer's mascot (a person who had to have been absolutely melting in the sweltering 90+ degrees and that big ole costume) gets to slide down this banana-colored slide if there is a homerun. Sadly, the slide didn't see much action.

Well, duh.

There's Mom's boss, Herb.

ROCKY! ROCKY! Not a bad toss.

Sweltering...yet still smiling. What you can't see are the dozen 12 year old boys in the luxury box next to us, eating anything and everything they could get their hands on. We were taking bets on who was going to toss their cookies first. I have an idea: you must be over 18 to enjoy a luxury box. I know, I know. This coming from the teacher. Honestly - you have no idea how loud 12 year old boys can yell...

Sweet.

My camera rocks. You can see the BALL!

Only in Wisconsin would there be a competitive Sausage Race. Yes, Sausage Race. Click here to learn more - they actually have their very own Wikipedia entry. What a kick.

There's No Place Like Gnome

While my brother Brad was busy learning how to jump out of planes in hot and humid Georgia, we were busy shopping. Indoors. In air conditioning. With food courts.

In order to alleviate SOME of my guilt, I kidnapped - make that GNOME-napped - one of the 2 hundred gnomes in my mother's backyard, and took him along for the ride. Sent Brad pics everyone once in a while, so he'd be in on the fun.

Hello.
I will be your travel gnome for the day.

Mullets Gone Bad.

Mind the Gap.

Big Brother Brewer!

Wheeee!

Dang. The gig's up. They're on to us.

I think the scary fingernails add a
nice touch to the Always Welcome sign.

Gnome-tut.

Gnome at last!

Freeze-Frame Fireworks

We RETURNED to our nailed down blanket
later in the day to watch the fireworks.
Check out the awesome view of the harbor!

My camera caught some amazing shots of the fireworks!

Happy Fourth of July!

Cheeseheads for Jesus

Celebrating the Fourth of July in Sheboygan, WI.

Love that lake!

Nailing down our blanket for our Fireworks spot later in the day. Seriously. Right next to the other 50 million Sheboyganites doing the same thing. Very amusing.

Booya!

Grandma Dot and Gus at the parade.

What about Bob!?

Cheeseheads for Jesus!

Yes. A hearse. In the parade.
Only in Sheboygan.

Love that lighthouse!

Just one of a bunch of accordian players ON the floats!

Dutch people...with more accordians!

I'm really not sure what to say here...

Some SERIOUS batting cage practice with Dad.
Blisters included.

Note the sign says "Stay OUT of the water", Mom...

Miniature golfing at noon was HOT, but beautiful!

Hole #17 or so. Thank you, shade.

Happy in the shade.

And THEN, we went to Fountain Park in downtown SheVegas to see "We the People", a musical drama about the Preamble to the Constitution. Did I mention it was over 90 degrees?

Sheboygan Harbor! Check out the yachts in the background!

Probably shouldn't leave the pier.

My lighthouse!

HOORAY!

Say ahh!

The view from the North Pier! Love it!

Wonderful Water

We had JUST talked about what it would be like if Jesus would just walk in and want to wash our feet, and I happy to come across this scene at BECC: one little guy was NOT liking the grass on his feet, and the little girl went over and filled a bucket (all on her own) and came back to help wash his feet. The littlest disciples, I tell ya!

The fun part about flying into Milwaukee, WI
is that they swing you over Lake Michigan
right before you land. LOVE that water!
