It Moved

The thought of getting my classroom into shape for the upcoming school year was gnawing at my subconscious all night. So, I headed to Flagstone in full-on attack mode, ready to chip away at whatever I possibly could today. GAME ON.

Oy. It always gets worse before it gets bettter, right?

Mother of Pearl. I forgot about the closet.

Ok, so YOU might be able to quickly realize this wasn't an animal, but it MOVED when I pulled the drawers forward, costing me a good 15 minutes as I squealed and jumped up onto my desk. Could have been a mouse hiding in the corner, just waiting to attack. Or even worse, a sn***.

Uh, yeah. Turned out to be pretty harmless.
Plastic dog tags on a string.
It COULD have been something else...

Felt the need to get the instruments OUT more this year. I need them to be in kids' hands, not in drawers/closets. They need to be in sight!

Ah....starting to look like a learning environment!
I'll sleep well tonight.

By the Way

By the way, the book I always thought
was a Bible was actually a story book!

By the way, there is a 2 foot tall kangaroo in my parents living room. And it holds plants. You should see the look a one year old gives you when he peeks around the chair and sees this!

By the way, the limbo flamingo
accompanied us to the airport. Seatbelt and all.

By the way, my new Santa Fe can successfully
display three digit temperatures.
And that's just wrong.

By the way, this much smoke can't be good for the air.

By the way, the sky was extra creepy tonight.

Death star creepy.

By the way, the view from Target is awesome at sunset.

Flamingo Limbo

Always amused by a pink flamingo, I once again encountered this tacky fellow while on vacation in Wisconsin. Mom and Dad found a blow-up pink flamingo RING TOSS game, and brought it to the lake. Really.

Little did we know this flamingo, weighted down by a bit of sand, was an expert Limbo dancer. We'd drop him into the water, and he'd limbo under the rope. Every. Time. Enjoy!

Last Look

I have a painting of this exact photo at home!
LOVE my lighthouse!

Went out at night with Jamie (after her adorable 5 month old son went to bed), and we walked to the end of the South Pier. Never seen Sheboygan from this perspective!

Just beautiful! I could live on the water!

Spooky shot of my lovely lighthouse.

Reflections of a wonderful time in Sheboygan!

Music Man

My childhood friend, Tammy, adopted this adorable little boy, Zachary, this past year. I've been reading her blog posts throughout the entire process, and finally meeting this little man was fantastic!

Leave it to me to find the one thing in the bathroom he usually isn't allowed to play with...and then make it a toy. :) I have a knack for these things...and Zachary was ready to play along!

SUCH a musical man. Beating away!

Finding things that make noise. And jingle.

Tambourine, anyone?

A little guitar time.

Story time. I think we're both equally amused!

Such a sweet boy!

So happy to finally know him in person!

LAKE DAY!

LAKE DAY! LAKE DAY! LAKE DAY!
All I wanted to do was float. In a boat. With a goat.
Wait...no goat. JUST BOAT!

ARGH, MATEY! Ready to hit the water! (And, not wanting my brand new eye to drown, I stored it safely in the glove compartment of the boat, and donned this lovely eyepatch.) GAME ON!

Started with two...

...and seemed to lose a ski on the way!
Yes, on purpose. BOOYA!

"What? Haven't you seen a skiing pirate before!?"

Fierce. I LOVE slaloming!

Dad's turn - catching some air!

Love, love, love to ski!

Mom at the helm. Punch it!

Well, hello there.

Doesn't every family have their very own
glass eye in a cup in THEIR boat?

I believe this would be the above-mentioned FLOATING.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

These fun new things Mom introduced me to: mozzarella whips.
YUM. (sheesh, my suit is crazy-busy!)

"Look at the swans!" says Dad.
To which I promptly stopped eating my cheese,
bolted up to view, only to discover a family of geese.
We're working on animal identification with him.

Happy. Happy. Happy.

After all that time on the lake, I was able to sneak in an evening worship service with Bob and Linda at First United Lutheran. Well, AMEN to a wonderful day!

Door County

Lake Day! Lake Day!
Wait...why are these things on the kitchen table!?! GRR.
Plan B: Head up to Door County.

I'm thinking the minnows at this gas station missed
the memo that they are supposed to be LIVE.

I'm all for creative flower vases, but please tell
me why we have to put the flowers THERE!?!?

Not a lake day, but definitely a "pull over to the side of the road, park the car and please let Brenda toss off her shoes and wade into the water" kind of day. Happy toes.

Sponge-Bob Marshmallow Pants.

Baby ducks just wanted to eat my Sponge-Bob.
Not sure baby ducks are supposed to eat whole cherries...

Dad pointed out this might be a fun pic.
He was right! Just skipping rocks in the river!

Door County has GREAT flowers - I think this was Egg Harbor.

Great flowers AND great glass artwork displays!

Great flowers, great artwork
AND hilarious lawn ornaments!
