Come to Jesus

You must know by now that a million songs run through my head each day. This song, however is quite different. My Pastor and friend, Ruth Ann, introduced me to "Untitled Hymn (Come to Jesus)" by Chris Rice a week or so ago, and it hasn't left my head, my piano, or my heart ever since!

The melody is simple yet driving, and the text - the TEXT! I read the lyrics as an overview of one's life - beginning, struggles and hardship, and then the ultimate end. I'd post the actual song to this blog (if it didn't slow the whole system down). Instead, here's the link to listen to a brief excerpt. Peace.

Weak and wounded sinner, lost and left to die,
O raise your head, for Love is passing by.
Come to Jesus and live.

Now your burden's lifted, and carried far away,
And precious blood has washed away the stain,
Sing to Jesus and live.

Like a newborn baby, don't be afraid to crawl,
And remember when you walk, sometimes we fall.
Fall on Jesus and live.

Sometimes the way is lonely, and steep and filled with pain,
If your sky is dark and pours the rain,
Cry to Jesus and live.

When the love spills over, and music fills the night,
And when you can't contain your join inside,
Dance for Jesus and live.

And with your final heartbeat, kiss the world goodbye,
Then go in peace and laugh on Glory's side.
Fly to Jesus and live.
